Bengaluru, Mysuru Delhi Public Schools tighten measures amid rising HMPV cases
India TodayFollowing the detection of Human Metapneumovirus cases in Bengaluru, Delhi Public School Bengaluru and Mysuru board member and Congress leader Mansoor Ali Khan announced heightened surveillance measures at the school. "We have issued circulars to parents, advising them not to send their children to school if they have even mild symptoms like a cough, cold, or sore throat," said Khan. "We do not want to cause panic among students or parents, but we are taking all necessary precautions and will send out a detailed Standard Operating Procedure to ensure everyone is informed." In response to the Bengaluru cases, the Karnataka government has issued an advisory urging citizens to avoid public places if symptomatic and to wear masks in crowded areas to mitigate transmission risks.
