Bombay HC rejects Anil Deshmukh's plea to cancel ED summons in money laundering case
India TodayThe Bombay High Court has rejected the petition filed by former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh to cancel summons issued to him by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case and asked him to file an anticipatory bail application in the lower court if he is advised. Deshmukh had told the Bombay High Court that "The manner in which summonses have been issued, the case of legal and factual malice on the part of ED is explicit." The bench also noted, "This court is called upon to engage in guess work to presume malafides against the ED," and that Deshmukh had "failed to demonstrate any malice".
