SA vs PAK, 2nd ODI: Klaasen fined for kicking stumps after defeat
The HinduSouth African wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen has been fined for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct, the global governing body of the sport announced on Friday. Klaasen has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the Code of Conduct during the second ODI against Pakistan in Cape Town on Thursday. Klaasen, who scored 74-ball 97, breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match.” Klaasen kicked the stumps after becoming the last man to be dismissed as Pakistan wrapped up an 81-run win to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
