L-G, CM to flag off helmet awareness rally on Friday

As part of the efforts to ensure strict enforcement of helmet rule from January 12 in the Union Territory, the police will be organising a motorbike rally to promote the concept of ‘Mission Zero Fatality’ in Puducherry on Friday. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy will flag-off the rally at Gandhi Statue after administering a pledge to NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, students, police personnel and general public on road safety. The awareness rally will pass through Beach Road-Old Distillery-S.V Patel Salai- Ajantha Junction-Muthialpet Clock Tower-Ezhaimariamman Koil Junction-Shivaji Statue Junction-ECR Road-Rajiv Gandhi Square-Indira Gandhi Square-Nellithope Junction-Odhiansalai Junction-Bussy Street-Beach Road and conclude at Gandhi Thidal. Governor and Chief Minister will honour traffic personnel for their exemplary service in the last year and also distribute certificates for winners of essay competition on road safety.
