Amid the protest, the leader slammed the DMK party for lack of CCTV surveillance at the university and also questioned the state’s use of the Nirbhaya fund allotted for women’s safety. The event even sparked more outrage after Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A Arun commented on the issue and said that the FIR might have been downloaded from the Tamil Nadu police’s Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems portal.
