Autistic 7-year-old boy found dead in lake after going missing from home

A seven-year-old boy was found dead in a lake in Sarjapur on the outskirts of Bengaluru the next day after he went missing from his home in a gated community on Thursday afternoon. His mother Linet D’Souza, a researcher by profession, told The Hindu that her son was playing in the house around 2.45 p.m. on Thursday and was missing when she checked again at around 3 p.m. “We rushed out and started searching for him. “As our search continued, we got a tip-off that residents had found a cycle used by children and a boy’s clothes on the banks of the nearby Mattanahalli Lake on Friday morning. They fished out the boy’s body from the lake,” a senior Sarjapur police official said.
