22-year-old boy deceived Amazon with iPhones worth Rs 20 lakh, here is what happened

But, today, you might be shocked to know that a 22-year-old boy along with other suspects managed to deceive Amazon of a whopping Rs 20 lakh by faking the return of expensive iPhones. Bengaluru police, in collaboration with Amazon's local representatives, have exposed a fraudulent scheme involving the phony return of high-value gadgets, such as iPhones, purchased on this e-commerce website. Amazon's internal inquiry revealed that a customer, Chirag Gupta, an engineering student residing in north Bengaluru, purchased four Apple iPhones between May 15 and 17 of this year. As a result of this investigation, gadgets worth Rs 20.34 lakh, including 16 iPhones, two Macbooks, and other items, have been confiscated.
