22-year-old boy deceived Amazon with iPhones worth Rs 20 lakh, here is what happened

Almost every day we hear about new scams that are going on and people are losing money in lakhs. But, today, you might be shocked to know that a 22-year-old boy along with other suspects managed to deceive Amazon of a whopping Rs 20 lakh by faking the return of expensive iPhones. Bengaluru police, in collaboration with Amazon's local representatives, have exposed a fraudulent scheme involving the phony return of high-value gadgets, such as iPhones, purchased on this e-commerce website. Amazon's internal inquiry revealed that a customer, Chirag Gupta, an engineering student residing in north Bengaluru, purchased four Apple iPhones between May 15 and 17 of this year. As a result of this investigation, gadgets worth Rs 20.34 lakh, including 16 iPhones, two Macbooks, and other items, have been confiscated.
