Nag Ashwin says Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ sequel will go on floors in December, reveals major update

Ever since director Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, headlined by Prabhas, enthralled film viewers during its phenomenal run in 2024, the hype for the sequel has been sky-high. In a recent media interaction, at the 10th-anniversary celebration of his debut Yevade Subramanyam, Ashwin confirmed that preparations for the much-awaited second part of Kalki are underway and that the film will begin shooting in December 2025. In an earlier interview with us, Ashwin had said that the second film will explore a lot more of the film’s antagonist, Kamal Haasan’s Yaskin, his backstory and his purpose. He had also revealed how the second film would introduce a fourth world, the ‘Flux Lands’, in addition to Kasi, Complex and Shambala.
