Armed forces in final stages of preparation for 76th Republic Day parade

The 76th Republic Day is around the corner and the Armed forces are giving their final touches to the preparations for the grand celebrations. According to a defence ministry statement, the Republic Day parade will feature six marching contingents from the Army, which will include the Brigade of the Guards, Mahar Regiment, Jat Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, and Corps of Signals. The diverse array of equipment that will be on display will highlight the operational readiness and technological prowess of the armed forces, with contingents featuring T-90 Bhishma, which is the main battle tank of the Army; Mechanised infantry with ICV BMP-II and NAMIS embodying mobility, versatility, and advanced firepower. Also gracing the parade will be Nandighosh, a quick reaction fighting vehicle emphasising rapid deployment capabilities with inherent protection; Agnibaan, which is a Pinaka multiple launch rocket system known for its lethality, precision and high impact; Short Span Bridging System demonstrating engineering excellence in battlefield mobility and Sanjay battlefield surveillance system, enhancing situational awareness in real-time. Apart from these, Chetak all-terrain vehicles, Akash air defence weapon system, BrahMos missile system, Grad BM-21 rocket launchers and Bajrang light strike vehicle will also enthral the audiences as well as the distinguished guests attending the glittering ceremony at the Kartavya Path on January 26.
