Donald Trump is suing to stop release of documents about January 6 attacks on Congress
ABCFormer US president Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit to block the release of documents to the January 6 House Select Committee, directly challenging the decision of President Joe Biden to release the files. The committee had asked for documents and testimony from Steve Bannon, who was in touch with Donald Trump ahead of the January 6 attack. It has also issued subpoenas to key Donald Trump allies including: Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows Former White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino Former chief strategist Steve Bannon Former assistant attorney-general Jeffrey Clark Amy Kremer and 10 others from Women for America First, which held the permit for the Stop the Steal Rally. "In a political ploy to accommodate his partisan allies, President Biden has refused to assert executive privilege over numerous clearly privileged documents requested by the Committee," Trump said in court papers.
