Courts to come up in 23 new districts
Deccan ChronicleHYDERABAD: The state government has expedited the process of setting up district courts in the newly-created districts in the state. Law minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, law secretary A. Santosh Reddy and Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman B. Vinod Kumar held a review meeting here on Tuesday to discuss setting up of district courts in the headquarters of 23 newly-created districts. At present, Telangana has nine district courts, including civil and criminal and metropolitan sessions courts and city civil judge courts in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, which were set up when the state had 10 districts prior to October 2016. Indrakaran Reddy said the state government had already communicated to the Telangana High Court about setting up of new district courts in all 23 new district headquarters and the approval for the same was expected very soon. He said setting up of new district courts would help people for early resolution of cases.
