Madhya Pradesh HC Unveils "MP Domestic & International Arbitration Centre" [Read Press Note]

The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently inaugurated the "Madhya Pradesh Domestic & International Arbitration Centre", for providing speedy and timely justice and to enhance the ease of doing business. Its building is annexed to the main High Court building and its functioning will be governed by the Madhya Pradesh Arbitration Centre Rules, 2019, as notified in the Gazette Notification dated September 6, 2019. The Centre will be supervised by the Board of Governors comprising five Senior High Court Judges and there is also a Directorate of the Centre, headed by the Director who is a Senior Judicial Officer. Inter alia, the parties may: select Arbitrator of their own choice at standard fees according to value of the matter; prefer the matter to mediation or conciliation at any stage; appoint Expert on specific issues; refer International disputes to the Arbitration Centre; place online request and seek telephonic coordination from the Centre; avail facility of good infrastructure and skilled manpower support with nominal charges.
