Pawar says his daughter got more votes than PM
Deccan ChronicleMumbai: NCP founder Sharad Pawar on Thursday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating his daughter Supriya Sule received more votes than the PM in the Lok Sabha election. Mr. Pawar said that Narendra Modi has lost credibility among the people and nobody believes “Modi’s guarantee”. Addressing a public rally in Baramati, the NCP founder said that Supriya Sule was elected by the margin of more than 1.58 lakh votes from the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, while Prime Minister of the country was elected by 1.50 Lakh votes in Varanasi. It may be recalled that in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election, Mr. Modi had defeated Congress Ajay Rai by a margin of 1,52,513 in Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, while Supriya Sule had defeated NDA candidate Sunetra Pawar by 1,58,333 votes in Baramati Lok Sabha constituency.
