In January 2024, Advani’s lawyer, Advocate Pravesh Nagar, filed an application before the Gautam Budh Nagar District Consumer Forum, pointing out UPSIDA’s continued non-compliance. “Under section 70/71 criminal procedure code 1973 read with under section 27 consumer protection act 1986 whereas aforesaid Mayur Maheshwari CEO of UPSIDA Khanpur, stands charged with the offence of non-compliance of order October 22, 2003, you are hereby directed to arrest the aforesaid Mayur Maheshwari CEO of UPSIDA, Kanpur and produce him before me.
