Electrician Caitlin Maggs and public servant Sarah Stewart make unlikely comedic duo at Canberra Comedy Festival

ABC

Sarah Stewart is a public servant who took up comedy in her 60s to "prove to her children she wasn't dead yet" and give herself a chance to "complain about her husband" of 40 years. Caitlin Maggs is a sparky in her 30s who grew tired of being referred to as a "female electrician" while her brother-in-law, who works for Australia Post, wasn't being called a "male mailman". Always "a bit of a larrikin", Caitlin made a rapid start in comedy after finding herself at an open mic night in Ballarat "where she didn't know anyone". They say they enjoy the "supportive" nature of the capital's growing comedy scene and are aiming to build on their success at the Sydney Fringe Festival.
