TTD takes action to clear decades-old garbage in Tirumala

Tirupati: To address a long-standing waste accumulation issue, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has launched plans to remove nearly 1 lakh metric tonnes of garbage that has accumulated over the past 30 years. Venkaiah Chowdary, inspected key locations in Tirumala, including the dumping yard near Kakulamanu Dibba, close to the Gogarbham Dam. "We are working to clear 1 lakh metric tonnes of garbage that has accumulated for over 30 years. "Municipal officials have already visited the site, and we aim to complete the garbage removal within three to four months," he added.
