Coronavirus update: Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, TVS, Yamaha, Suzuki suspend manufacturing operations
India TodayThe major two-wheeler manufacturers of India are taking precautionary measures to tackle the spread of Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, with several suspending operations at their respective manufacturing facilities. Hero MotoCorp has halted operations at all its manufacturing facilities, including those in India, Colombia and Bangladesh, and the Global Parts Centre at Neemrana, with immediate effect till March 31. "Employees at all the other functions and locations including the Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan will continue to work from home, except for those whose physical presence is necessary to run the day-to-day essential services," Hero MotoCorp said in an official statement. TVS Motor Company has halted the manufacturing operations at its plants in India and Indonesia till further notice and provided work from home facility to the employees.
