Chalavadi hints at possible action against BJP MLAs Somashekar and Hebbar
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy has indicated that the BJP leadership, which has expelled rebel leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal from the party, could target its MLAs S.T. Fielding reporters’ queries on the show cause notice issued to Mr. Somashekar and Mr. Hebbar, Mr. Narayanaswamy said that it could be their turn next. Pointing out that Mr. Yatnal’s expulsion from the party for six years should serve as a “warning bell” to others, Mr. Narayanaswamy said the former Union Minister should have corrected himself when the party issued him show cause notices earlier. Shivakumar for his alleged statement on “changing the Constitution”, Mr. Narayanaswamy regretted that Dalit organisations in the State had not come out against Mr. Shivakumar’s statement. Mr. Narayanaswamy said the Dalit organisations should oppose whichever party or leader speaks against the Constitution without discrimination.
