UGC introduces new enrollment process for ODL and online courses in 2024-25

The University Grants Commission has introduced a new procedure for enroling in Open and Distance Learning and Online courses for the 2024-25 academic session. The UGC's latest notification emphasises that students can only enroll in ODL and Online programmes offered by recognised and approved higher educational institutions. As part of the new admission process, students must register on the UGC-DEB web portal using their Academic Bank of Credit -ID to generate a unique DEB-ID, which will be necessary for enrolment. The UGC has urged all higher educational institutions to adopt this new mechanism for the admission process in ODL and Online modes, starting from the October 2024 academic session.
