Bengaluru Airport hits 40 million passengers, ranked 'Large Airport'

Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport achieved a significant milestone in 2024 by surpassing 40 million passengers for the first time. With a total of 40.73 million travellers, KIA joined the global ‘Large Airport’ category, according to Airports Council International. On average, the airport saw 723 air traffic movements per day, peaking at 782 on October 17. Cargo operations at KIA also saw a record-breaking year, processing 496,227 metric tonnes of cargo, marking a 17 per cent increase from the previous year.
