Police have confirmed that Khan Mubarak, an associate of underworld don Chhota Rajan, has passed away while receiving medical treatment at the Hardoi district hospital within an hour of being shifted from the district jail, on Monday. He was among the top 10 criminals in Uttar Pradesh and had been implicated in extortion cases worth crores of rupees, as well as shootouts in various states including Maharashtra. His name also surfaced in connection with a post office robbery in 2006, and he was allegedly involved in the Kala Ghoda massacre in Mumbai that same year.
