Each time men see danger in a power shift, they turn to women’s bodies: the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat wants women to have at least three children and the Taliban bans women from health studies. “Are women meant to be just beneficiaries and not representatives?” says Nistula Hebbar, The Hindu’s political editor.
