CBI secures return of 2 fugitives from Abu Dhabi through Interpol

The Central Bureau of Investigation on April 2 coordinated the return of two fugitives, Suhail Basheer and Tofik Najir Khan, from the United Arab Emirates through INTERPOL channels. The International Police Cooperation Unit of the CBI worked with the National Central Bureau in Abu Dhabi, Kerala Police, and Gujarat Police to secure the return of the fugitives. The Kerala Police escort team brought back Suhail Basheer to Cochin International Airport after he was located in the UAE through the CBI's follow-up with INTERPOL. In a separate case, Gujarat Police received custody of Tofik Najir Khan, who is wanted in a criminal case filed at Bavlu Police Station, Mehsana District, for criminal conspiracy, forgery, and cheating. The CBI, which serves as the National Central Bureau for INTERPOL in India, coordinates with domestic law enforcement agencies through the BHARATPOL network to trace and return wanted individuals.
