Russell Crowe reveals if he will appear in Gladiator sequel

After years of talk and speculation, Russell Crowe confirmed that there will in fact be a follow-up to his hit epic historical film Gladiator, and even hinted at a plot line. Crowe, who played Maximus Decimus Meridius in the original, did share some of the details of the plot that he learned from a conversation he had with Scott Teaser: After having a conversation with Crowe Scott, 85, about the plot, Crow revealed that the new film will focus on Lucius, the 'young kid who wanted to beat the Gladiator, which leads to the "My name is" speech,' adding that 'he will now be grown up and now the Emperor' Deadline was among the publications that had previously announced that Scott would helm the film and Irish actor Paul Mescal, 26, had been tapped to play the lead role.
