GHMC issues dos and don’ts to all eateries
Deccan ChronicleHyderabad:In its bid to reduce food adulteration incidents, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has issued an advisory to all eateries in its jurisdiction. “Revealing names of establishments selling unhygienic food has increased awareness and ensured better compliance,” said a GHMC official. As of October 31, food safety officials made 9,886 inspections this year and overall slapped `25,46,001 penalty on eateries. The corporation’s food safety wing has launched a drive to bring all street food vendors into the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India net by issuing registration certificates. Around 2,500 registration certificates were issued to hawkers and street food vendors and the process is under way, said an official from the civic body.
