Assembly Elections 2022 Updates: Cong Releases Manifesto for Goa Polls; Assures Resumption of Mining if Voted to Power
News 18The Congress on Sunday released its manifesto for the upcoming Goa Assembly polls, and senior party leader P Chidambaram promised the resumption of mining activities in the coastal state if his party comes to power. On Sunday, those present during the release of the Congress’s manifesto included party’s Goa in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao, state unit chief Girish Chodankar, former Union minister Ramakant Khalap and AICC media in-charge for Goa elections Alka Lamba. Charanjit Singh Channi will be the Congress’ chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced in Ludhiana. Ahead of the announcement, Congress state president Navjot Singh Sidhu said he would accept Rahul Gandhi’s decision on the CM candidate and added that he would ‘walk with a smile’ if not given power.
