BJP seniors back Bandi, says no change of president
Deccan ChronicleHYDERABAD: Senior leaders of the BJP, after a brainstorming session over the news of an impending change in state leadership on Sunday, hit back strongly at media reports and alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was “trying to demoralise our cadre and party by creating confusion and planting fake narratives” about a change in BJP state president. Afterwards, speaking to the media, the leaders said in a statement, “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is rattled by the BJP and is therefore resorting to his usual tricks of trying to spread confusion. We must all work hard to use the situation in the state, work unitedly and with focus to come to power.” Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Vittal and Jithender Reddy said, “There is a procedure to change or appoint a new president in the BJP. It won’t happen and we will fight the elections under the leadership of Bandi Sanjay.” If BJP high command wanted to change the state party president, it will ascertain the views of the party from the grassroots level and all senior leaders before making an announcement, they said.
