London borough rebels against ‘flawed’ Ulez expansion by refusing to install cameras

The Telegraph

London’s biggest borough has become the latest council to block attempts to install cameras used to police the expansion of the Ultra-Low Emission Zone in London. It was also revealed that London’s most populous borough could join a group of four other outer London boroughs that are looking into options to legally challenge the mayor’s decision. The south London borough, which houses nearly 400,000 Londoners, is the latest to commit to blocking attempts by TfL to install cameras ahead of expansion beginning in August. Last week, the Liberal Democrat-led Sutton Council became the first to publicly declare that it would defy Sadiq Khan and refuse to install cameras.
