NDRF, Police, IAF rescue 80 people in Mulugu Dist

WARANGAL: Rescue teams, including the NDRF and police personnel, apart from soldiers of the Indian Air Force continued their rescue operations in Mulugu district with water boats and two helicopters on Friday, rescuing people of Kondai village stranded in flood waters to safe zones. As it rained heavily on Thursday too, rescue teams faced considerable problems in reaching Kondai village and carrying out search operations. Yet, using water boats and helicopters, 80 of the total 162 members stranded have been rescued by Friday evening. Police officials said while eight members of Kondai village got washed away in water overflowing from Jamppanna Vagu, they recovered the bodies of five persons of a family.
