Central Park Five Sued by Former President Trump for False Statements in Debate

Live Mint

Five men who were wrongfully convicted of raping a jogger in New York City 30 years ago have filed a defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump. Trump's statements during a televised debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, in which he claimed the men had admitted guilt and harmed or killed someone, were found to be false by the court. The lawsuit argues that Trump's statements were inaccurate and misleading, as none of the men had pled guilty to any crime and that the victim of the assault is not killed.
