'Policy Matter': Delhi High Court Refuses To Order 'Rehabilitation Package' For Pakistan Migrants Under CAA

Live Law

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday refused to pass directions to the Central Government on a petition seeking “comprehensive rehabilitation package” for Pakistan migrants who have obtained citizenship under the Citizenship Act. A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said that rehabilitation package was purely a matter of policy of the Government. The Bench asked the Central Government to decide the representation of the petitioner, Akhil Bhartiya Dharma Prasar Samiti. It was the petitioner's case that the migrants were in need of “comprehensive resettlement measures” to ensure that they live in India with dignity.
