'That was some weird stuff': CNN guest buries 'creepy' Katie Britt speech

Raw Story

Add former Naval War College professor Tom Nichols to those who are wondering today why the Republican Party chose freshman Sen. Katie Britt to give the response to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address. Appearing on CNN with host Jim Acosta, Nichols — now a columnist for The Atlantic — came down on the side of those who were baffled by Britt's over-emoting and dramatic speech from her barren-appearing kitchen that he concluded came across as "creepy." "That whole business, I think the kitchen locale, you know, I mean it was a little too on the nose for a party that's had problems with women and reproductive rights and women's rights."
