I feel pretty exhausted, the last three days were really tough Darren Edwards Mr Edwards, from Shrewsbury in Shropshire, landed at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 early on Thursday morning along with his fiancee, TJ, another friend and Carl Simmons, who provided fitness and logistical support during and before the trip. He said on Wednesday that he wanted to show others in his position that great things could still be achieved despite the accident, adding: “I didn’t want to be a different person just because I’m in a wheelchair.” During the challenge, he raised around £50,000 for the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team, the charity which helped teach Mr Edwards to ski after his accident. That was very special.” Mr Edwards will now begin planning his next challenge, skiing across Europe’s largest glacier later this year, spanning 150km.
