17yo male to face more charges over deaths of Kate Leadbetter and Matt Field in Alexandra Hills, but none relate to baby's killing

Assistant Commissioner Codd said police received legal advice that charges relating to killing an unborn child were unavailable to them on this occasion. Assistant Commissioner Codd, who appeared visibly upset as he spoke of the investigation, said the work of police is "far from finished". Police were invited to the couple's funeral and Assistant Commissioner Codd said the gesture was empowering for police and first responders involved.
