
Returning from injury, former India basketball captain P.S. Jeena is taking it one day at a time
The HinduAround last May, as P.S. “It was on one leg, I felt my knee turn.and my ACL was completely gone,” said Jeena, the Indian captain at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, in a chat with Sportstar from Thiruvananthapuram. The 30-year-old, who plays for Kerala State Electricity Board, made a strong return to the court at the recent all-India tournament in Karur, Tamil Nadu, where her team defeated Railway champion, Eastern Railway, a side which included the country’s tallest female player, Poonam Chaturvedi, 86-59 for the title. “After the injury, instead of big goals, I have set small goals.to do today’s training well, to play this game well. “I’ve realised that we cannot think long or too far into the future after an injury.I want to play every game as my last game, that’s what I’m doing now.”
