A part-time model has been jailed after trying to con her ex-fiancé out of more than £60,000 in a romance scam. Rosemary Lai, 31, targeted Ashely Booth after meeting him on dating website Plenty of Fish and learning he had inherited a house and money from grandmother. But when vulnerable Mr Booth, 35, dumped Lai in 2019, she then sent him forged bailiff letters claiming he owed him more than £63,000 for a lavish venue. But when vulnerable Mr Booth, 35, dumped Lai in 2019, she then sent him forged bailiff letters claiming he owed him more than £63,000 for a lavish venue Lai sent the forged letters claiming she was being targeted for £63,488.07 by bailiffs and demanded the money off Mr Booth who was in a mental institution at the time.
