India TodayWith a few days left for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, or MCD, to begin proceedings under the AAP government, the party's candidates filed their nominations for the civic body’s leadership today. AAP councillors Dr Shelly Oberoi and Aaley Mohammad Iqbal filed their nominations for the posts of the MCD Mayor and deputy Mayor respectively. Aam Aadmi Party's Rajendra Nagar MLA and MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak said, “The people of Delhi dream of making Delhi a clean and glorious city. I am sure that they will cooperate in fulfilling this dream by working day and night.” Aam Aadmi Party's Kalkaji MLA Atishi said, “Aam Aadmi Party has got the majority in MCD polls. And now, Dr Shelly Oberoi will become the first Mayor of the unified MCD and Aaley Mohammad Iqbal will become the deputy mayor.” “The people of Delhi have voted for the Aam Aadmi Party in the corporation so that they can get the Delhi they dream of.
