Misri's plea to global leaders "can we start paying attention to the problems of the vast majority of humanity?"

At the Raisina Dialogue 2025, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri urged global leaders to move beyond geopolitical conflicts and address pressing global challenges, particularly those faced by the Global South. Speaking at a high-profile session that brought together influential leaders and thinkers to discuss the world’s future, Misri highlighted the deepening crises in climate, development, and economic growth. “I think the Global South is saying to the Global North that, look, can we get beyond this conflict please and start paying attention to the problems of the vast majority of humanity,” he remarked. “I would like to see the beginnings of a process in the United Nations to create a new model of global governance,” he stated.
