British MPs hail KCR for being pro-Dalit

Chandrashekar Rao received praise from the British MPs as well as members of the Indian diaspora in the UK for his commitment to the empowerment and upliftment of Dalits in Telangana state, as evidenced by a slew of Dalit-friendly policies, the installation of a 125-foot-tall bronze statue of B.R. At a ‘Thanksgiving to CM KCR’ event hosted by the Ambedkar UK Organisation in the UK Parliament Committee Hall in Britain, speakers lauded the Dalit Bandhu scheme of the Telangana state government with the Indian diaspora saying such schemes enabled Dalits to become entrepreneurs and live with self-respect and dignity. British MPs Virendra Sharma, Navedu Mishra, and Baron Kuldeep Singh Sahota recalled Ambedkar’s contributions to India, describing him as a great social reformer who tirelessly fought against untouchability and worked to eliminate discrimination against Dalits. Dalit UK Network director Ghajala Sheikh, Ambedkar UK organisation representative Sushant Indrajit Singh, NRI BRS UK president Ashok Goud Doosari, vice-president Naveen Reddy, Talk President Ratnakar Kadudula, TDF chairman Kamal Voruganti, local councillors Prabhakar Khaja and Uday Areti as well as Conservative leader Hari were among those who attended the event.
