Can you turn it up please? AI could be used to make mumbling TV actors speak up as quiet line readings drive more viewers to subtitles
Daily MailAI could make actors who mumble their lines speak clearly as more people turn to subtitles to watch TV and films. BBC's Happy Valley has received countless complaints, as has HBO's Game of Thrones and Christopher Nolan films such as The Dark Knight Rises or Interstellar have been marred by inaudible dialogue. It comes after an Xperi survey of US adults found that 84 per cent of viewers struggled to understand dialogue during TV shows and movies. BBC 's crime drama The Jetty was slammed just minutes into the opening episode after it aired due to audio issues Earlier this year, Maestro viewers complained they could barely understand the actors.
