Explosion kills two in Poland near Ukraine border, with US claiming Russia may not be responsible

Zelenskyy calls for action Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian missiles hit Poland in what he called a "significant escalation" of the conflict. "Russian missiles hit Poland," Mr Zelenskyy said, according to a text accompanying his nightly video address. The reports of Russian missiles crossing into Poland were "incredibly concerning," US State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel said, adding that Washington was working to determine what happened and appropriate next steps. "We are aware of the press reports alleging that two Russian missiles have struck a location inside Poland near the Ukraine border," Pentagon spokesperson Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said.
