Giants’ Mara still has ‘all the confidence in the world’ in Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen
New York TimesORLANDO, Fla. — Despite a 2023 season he described as a “huge disappointment,” New York Giants co-owner John Mara expressed strong support Monday for general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll as the duo enters its third year in charge of the franchise. “I have all the confidence in the world in Joe and his staff and in Brian Daboll and his staff,” Mara said at the NFL owners’ meetings. So do I. I don’t think it’s a major issue.” Mara said he was aware Daboll and Martindale had some “disagreements,” but he didn’t realize the depth of the discord until after the season. At the end of the day, if the players are still playing hard for him, I think that goes a long way towards telling you he’s the right coach.” Mara said the front office has told him this QB class is “the most talented group to come out in years.” 👀 https://t.co/gb3wUnuKlY — Dan Duggan March 25, 2024 Despite the vote of confidence for Schoen and Daboll, Mara gave no assurances they’ll be spared if there’s a repeat of last season.
