People in droves spend kari naal at tourist spots
The HinduTourist spots in Kanniyakumari, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts were overflowing with tourists on Wednesday as people with their families and friends enjoyed their quality time there as part of kari naal celebration, held the day after Pongal. The visitors will be allowed to take bath once the flow becomes moderate,” said the forest personnel deployed near the waterfalls. In Thoothukudi district, places like Roach Park, New Harbour Beach, Kattabomman Fort at Panchalankurichi, Tiruchendur, Arunchunai Ayyanar spring near Ammanpuram and the greeny spaces along the Tamirabharani watercourse were full of visitors. Other places like Thirparappu waterfalls, Mathur aqueduct near Thiruvattar, Padmanabhapuram Palace and the scenic beaches of the district too attracted huge crowds.
