Meerut man gets death in Saudi Arabia over drugs, family says he was framed

A court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced a 35-year-old Indian national from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, to death on charges of drug trafficking. The man sentenced to death is Zaid Junaid and had moved to Saudi Arabia fort work in 2018. The Indian consulate in Saudi Arabia communicated the court's decision to the Meerut district administration through an official letter, which Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada later confirmed. Another elder brother, Naeem Khan Faisal, who also works in Saudi Arabia as a driver, is coordinating efforts to secure Zaid's release.
