
TGSPDCL to call for EoI for underground power cabling in Greater Hyderabad on January 20
The HinduHYDERABAD As part of the State government plans to develop underground power cable network in Hyderabad, the Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd has decided to call for expression of interest for replacing the existing overhead power lines with underground cables across Greater Hyderabad. The Discom is inviting expression of interest from the companies who have carried out the underground power cabling works in other large cities or in other countries. They could also form joint ventures with appropriate technology partners who have implemented such underground cabling works for power utilities in the country or abroad. The power utility has also placed a detailed note on the EoI on its website: www.tgsouthernpower.org According to the CMD, the existing transmission and distribution network in GHMC includes 498 - 33/11 kV substations, 1,280 km of underground cable, 3,725 km of overhead line, 1,022 power transformers in substations, 957 km of 11 kV underground cable, 21,643 km of 11 kV overhead T&D cable, 1,50,992 distribution transformers and 58,271 intermediate poles.
