Huawei's first foldable phone will also be its first 5G-ready phone
India TodayHuawei has spilled a few more details about its upcoming foldable smartphone. Huawei's Ken Hu has revealed that the company's first foldable smartphone -- which does not have a name yet -- will also be its first 5G-ready smartphone. This will be a little ahead of previous schedule since previously Huawei had said that it would launch its first foldable phone in the second half of 2019. Honor's 5G-ready phone could be the Honor Magic 2 since the yet-to-be-launched phone packs a Kirin 980, which is Huawei's latest and greatest mobile processor, equipped with technology to support 5G connectivity. Huawei rival Samsung is set to launch its first foldable phone in 2018 itself, the company has confirmed, and Huawei might be looking to counter that with its own take on the futuristic platform.
