Colts add 3 new assistants to coaching staff

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts coach Shane Steichen hired three new assistants Friday, bringing James Bettcher back to the franchise as linebackers coach, Jerome Henderson as defensive backs coach and Chris Hewitt as passing game coordinator for the secondary. The Colts also announced that last season’s coaching fellows — Isabel Diaz, Kalon Humphries and Diego Ortiz — will return in the same capacities next season. He spent the past three seasons as the Cincinnati Bengals’ linebackers coach under new Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. Henderson has spent two decades coaching in the NFL, including the last five seasons working with the New York Giants’ secondary.
