Australian cabaret star Hans will be airlifted to a London hospital for surgery after falling 4 metres while performing on a cruise ship off the coast of Turkey last week. Key points: Matt Gilbertson suffered extensive foot injuries and some spinal damage He fell from stage while performing as Hans on a European cruise ship He is expected to undergo surgery at a private hospital in London The Adelaide entertainer, whose real name is Matt Gilbertson, was on a tour with Atlantis Events when he fell from the stage into an orchestra pit, suffering injuries to his spine and foot. "What we are trying to do is get him airlifted by air ambulance out of Turkey and into London, where he can get the proper care and surgery that he's going to need," he said. "They've already identified which surgeon will take care of him and he's very senior and highly respected and for that, we are so grateful," Mr Wilson said.
