What's been done to curb trafficking: Congress to Punjab AAP amid deportation row
India TodayWith the second US flight carrying 120 Indian deportees set to land in Amritsar today, the political row over the deportation of illegal immigrants has heated up again. While Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann slammed the Centre over the flights landing in Amritsar and not any other cities, Congress MLA Partap Singh Bajwa criticised Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party-led government for failing to address human trafficking over the past three years. He questioned how many travel agents had been prosecuted under this law since Mann took office, given the continuing reports of human trafficking. "Can Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who also holds the Home Portfolio, let the Punjabis know how many travel agents have been booked under the same law in the last three years?" Bajwa cited Chief Minister Mann describing the illegal immigration as a "national issue."
