CM Revanth to Inaugurate Sadarmat Barrage

Adilabad:The newly erected Sadarmat barrage, up for inauguration soon, will provide water to a total of 18,000 acres in the Nirmal and Jagtial districts. “The barrage would give water to 13,000 acres in Khanapur and Mamada in Nirmal district and 5,000 acres under the Ganganala canal by taking water from River Godavari in the Jagtiyal district,” officials said. The Central Water Commission has declared the ancient Sadarmat irrigation Anicut a Heritage Irrigation Structure in Khanapur in Nirmal district. Irrigation chief engineer for Adilabad, T Srinivas, said the Sadarmat barrage “is almost complete” and compensation will have to be paid to the 50 acres of land acquired for the barrage.
